eDreams Mitja Marató Barcelona

Presentation

Light, sea, pleasant climate and a host of cultural and tourist attractions make Barcelona the best location for a race like the eDreams Mitja Marató. Born in 1991 in the shelter/shadow of its older sister the Zurich Marató de Barcelona, every year it becomes more and more crowded. In the last editions, both the 2019 and 2020 editions, the number of registered runners exceeded 20,000. Even the 2021 edition, in the middle of the pandemic wave, was able to gather 9,000 participants and, in all cases, it was a resounding success. You can't miss it!

Time to be the first

The Half Marathon is not only a unique sporting experience, but also a guarantee of an unforgettable weekend in one of the most beautiful cities in Europe.

Your choice

Experience the Half Marathon as a couple, with your family or with your group of friends and enjoy the Mediterranean atmosphere, sponsored by the welcoming nature of the people of Barcelona, who fill the streets on the day of the race, transmitting all their encouragement and enthusiasm. In addition, from a couple of days before, in parallel to the eDreams Mitja Marató, you can visit the Runner's Fair with the latest in the world of running, located at the Fira de Barcelona in Montjuïc, pavilion nº7 (next to the Puig i Cadafalch Columns).

Sport experience

The Half Marathon is much more than a sporting event worthy of the Catalan capital's global prominence. Athletes from all over the world come together every year to experience a fun and festive day that is not without competition.

The course

The central Passeig Pujades, next to the Parc de la Cituadella and in front of the Arc de Triomf, is the place where you will start the eDreams Half Marathon. From this point, the race invites you to run along the Passeig d'Isabel II along the beautiful coastal view from the old town of Barcelona. You'll leave the Barceloneta and Gothic quarters behind you without losing sight of the blue Mediterranean sky and water, as you run parallel to the charming Port Vell. At a brisk pace, you'll reach the iconic statue of Columbus, which points the way from the popular Ramblas. Just beyond, Avinguda del Paral.lel opens up in front of you with Plaça Espanya in the background and marks the next milestone of the race. Once there, between strides, get ready to admire the splendour of Avinguda de la Reina Maria Cristina with the buildings of the Fira, the Joan Miró Foundation and the imposing silhouette of the Palau Nacional, its elegant classicist domes rising from the slopes of the magical mountain of Montjuic. After a sharp turn down Carrer Entença, you'll enter the geometric and orderly grid of the Eixample and its best-known thoroughfare, Gran Via. Luckily for you, you'll only have two and a half kilometres of this endless avenue straight ahead until you reach Carrer Bailén and Avinguda Lluis Companys, from where, after passing through Carrer Buenaventura Muñoz and Carrer Pallars, you'll head for Poble Nou. The old industrial heart of the city can be reached via Carrer Llacuna and Carrer Perú, and from there you return to Gran Via to take Rambla de Prim straight to the booming Diagonal Mar shopping and business area. Once you've completed this entire route, you'll have covered 16 kilometres and it will be Carrer Taulat and Avinguda Litoral on the way to Port Olimpic that will let you know that the route is coming to an end. To conclude this marvellous sporting walk, Carrer Marina will be the prelude to the finishing straight, located in the same place as the start, on Passeig Pujades. Congratulations because you will have made it!
