Historia

Since 1991, a reference Half Marathon in international athletics.
Find out about all the editions!

Created in 1991 taking advantage of the Olympic atmosphere of those years and, of course, following in the wake of the other great marathon race in Barcelona (Zurich Marató Barcelona), the Half Marathon has become, over time, one of the most important events in the national athletics calendar. Held uninterruptedly since its creation, it was, in its first stage, organised by the Club Natació Catalunya and ran along a similar route to the current one, but with the start and finish line in the Olympic Village. Throughout its more than 30 editions, the event has grown exponentially and the figure of 5,000 participants in the 2010 edition is now far from 5,000, which became more than 23,000 in 2020.

Since 2011, the companies RPM Sports and ASO have had the honour of organising this prestigious event and of having a large national and international representation of great athletes. The eDreams Mitja Marató Barcelona has had illustrious names such as the Kenyans Peter Kosgei, Abel Kirui, Eliud Kipchoge and Victor Chumbo, winner of the last edition. In the women's category, Ethiopia's Roza Dereje has written her name in gold letters after her victories in the last two editions. But, beyond the big names, the eDreams Mitja Marató de Barcelona has established itself as a fun-family event for all running and sports fans in general.
