The eDreams Mitja Marató Barcelona by Brooks will be the second event of the Plátano de Canarias 2025 National Running Circuit

30,000 runners fill the streets of Barcelona in the country’s largest half marathon and the second largest in Europe

On February 16, Barcelona will host the second event of the Plátano de Canarias 2025 National Running Circuit with the celebration of the eDreams Mitja Marató Barcelona by Brooks, the largest half marathon in the country and the second most important in Europe. This event will welcome 30,000 runners, establishing itself as one of the most anticipated sporting events of the year.

The course, famous for its fast layout and stunning urban scenery, will allow runners to enjoy some of Barcelona’s most iconic landmarks, such as the Arc de Triomf, the Sagrada Família, and the city’s coastline. Both elite athletes and amateur runners will have the chance to break their own records and embrace the spirit of running in a city that lives and breathes sports.

Promoting Healthy Habits Through Sport

The Plátano de Canarias National Running Circuit, which began in 2020, aims to promote an active and healthy lifestyle. Since its creation, it has inspired more than 100,000 runners to challenge themselves in the different half marathons that make up the circuit, combining sports, balanced nutrition, and solidarity.

Plátano de Canarias, the nutritional ally of this circuit, will be present to support runners with its high content of carbohydrates, potassium, and magnesium—key elements for energy, muscle recovery, and cramp prevention. Additionally, as a source of vitamin B6 and antioxidants, it helps reduce fatigue and protect cardiovascular health, making it the perfect supplement for tackling the 21 kilometers of a half marathon.

More Than a Race: A Commitment to Solidarity

The National Running Circuit not only promotes sports but also solidarity. For every kilometer completed by participants, one kilogram of Plátano de Canarias will be donated to the Spanish Federation of Food Banks, reinforcing its commitment to social well-being.

After kicking off in Seville on January 26 and with the eDreams Mitja Marató Barcelona by Brooks on February 16, the circuit will continue its journey through other major Spanish cities, such as Madrid (April 27), Valencia (October 26), and San Sebastián (November 9), solidifying itself as a sports reference that brings together effort, health, and solidarity.
