Julius Keter returns to conquer the Race of the Day of the Father of Mexico City

The Kenyan and the Mexican Marisol Romero won last Sunday the 31st edition of this half marathon that had more than 12.000 runners

Everything began in 1980. 57 runners wanted to celebrate in a different way the Fathers' day in Mexico City and they completed 21 kilometers and 97 meters in a circuit to the south part of the metropolis. Edition after edition there were more runners and, especially, fans and relatives who were accompanying the athletes in a bank holiday. And the race of the day of the father of Mexico City is nowadays one of the most important half marathons of America, though having a route with many slopes.

In this 31st edition, the Mexican race brought together more than 12.000 runners last June 19, day of the father in Mexico and in other countries. The Kenyan Julius Keter, with a record of 1h03.58 won for the second consecutive time this race, while in feminine category, the Mexican Marisol Romero won with a time of 1h13.52.
