Barcelona, 5 June 2019. Enrolment opens today for the 2020 edition of the eDreams Mitja Marató de Barcelona. The half-marathon, along one of the fastest circuits in the world for the distance and which runs through the centre of the city, will take place on Sunday 16 February 2020.

After beating the record for the number of entries last February, when the organizers had to put the “SOLD OUT” sign up when the figure of 19,000 participants was reached, from today you can enrol for the 2020 race at the same price since 2014. The first 12,000 entries can benefit from this special price of €24.95.

In recent years the event has gained international prestige thanks to its fast route and the services provided to the runners. Examples of this are the world records set by the Kenyan athlete Florence Kiplagat, who beat the women’s world record in 2014 and 2015. The eDreams Mitja de Marató de Barcelona attracted the attention of the world’s sports media and became one of the fastest races of its kind in the world.

Barcelona’s half-marathon has continued to grow in recent years, in quantity and quality. In 2017 it was awarded the prestigious Gold Label seal by the IAAF (International Athletics Associations Federation) for the best road races in the world. The eDreams Mitja Marató de Barcelona ticks all the boxes to be part of this select club of athletics events, as every year it attracts national and international athletes to Barcelona in search of their personal bests. Last year’s event was a good example, with 100 runners crossing the finish line below 1:10:45.

From today, you can enrol on the race website for an edition that will surely be special: the race’s 30th anniversary.
