- The Kenyan, besides obtaining the new record of the Mitja Marató of Barcelona, has reduced in more than one minute her personal record
Priscah Jeptoo did not have rival yesterday in the 21st edition of la Mitja Marató de Barcelona. From the first one and up to the last meter she went her own way and, in spite of it, she broke the record of the race that from 2008 was in power of her compatriot Joan Aiyabei hands for 56 seconds. Jeptoo, 27 years old, who accredits 2h27' in marathon, reduced in more than one minute her personal record, which was of 1h11'13" and has surpassed in more than six the second classified, the Welsh Caryl Jones (1h16'46"). The third position has been for the Moroccan of the Agrupació Atlètica Catalunya Hasna Bahom with 1h17'22". "I knew I was the favorite one to win, but I didn't expect to do such a good record", said the new queen of la Mitja Marató de Barcelona.
