The Kenyan athlete, who shredded last February the mark set by his compatriot Abel Kirui, in the Mitja Marató de Barcelona, climbed yesterday to the podium at the prestigious Berlin Marathon, behind the new record holder of this Marathon, Wilson Kipsang. Thus, Kipchoge crossed the finish line behind Kipsang, stopping the clock at 2.04.05, just 42 seconds above the world marathon record, set at 02.03.23.
